From August 10 – 12, 2023, the Logistics Industry Reference Council (LIRC) has participated in Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition 2023 (VILOG 2023) which took place at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). This is a key event of the entire logistics industry co-organized by Logistics Business Association (VLA) and VINEXAD Company to provide opportunities for domestic, international logistics businesses and other parties to introduce their products, expand network, promote cooperation, and receive consultancy.

At the exhibition, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – HCMC Branch (VCCI-HCM) in collaboration with Aus4skills and the attendance of LIRC school members, LIRC booth has received over 200 visits from many guests (including business representatives, parents, students, and lecturers) to gain an understanding of LIRC’s overview and its majoring activities; gathering information on logistics workforce via detailed forecast reports built on skills forecasts and occupational standards developed for some job positions, and admission of VET institutions.

From this exhibition, LIRC introduced much information and publications in terms of workforce development for the logistics industry, especially 2 forcasting reports skill: Executive Report Skills Forecast for Vietnam’s Logistics Industry In 2021-2023, and Executive Report Skills Forecast for Vietnam’s Port Industry In 2024-2028; occupational standards for logistics and port positions.

The exhibition’s atmosphere has created multiple connections between VET institutions and the businesses in the industry. Besides, it is such an opportunity to expand this model through the participation of businesses because information of LIRC’s model can be more widespreaded in order that businesses would witness their potential contribution to high-quality workforce development for the future, shortening the gap between on-site tranning and reality.

LIRC’s booth is also a place that attracted many students who expressed their high concerns for LIRC’s practical information and publications as it helps them be prepared for their knowledge, skills, and career path suitable with the futuree market trend.

During 3-day exhibition, LIRC has demonstrated its determination to be a bridge between logistics businesses with VET institutions, to promote and improve the quality of vocational educational training in Vietnam.
